I thought these Hatch Green Chili Chicken Tamales tasted delicious. I felt like I was back home in New Mexico. My tamale had a good balance of chicken to masa and the green chili flavors were excellent.
We eat tamales regularly in NM and these compare favorably! They were shipped and remained totally frozen, to Colorado, in early December. Easy to separate into 3 units so we could repackage them for 3 meals. And when we ate them last night -- YUM. Served with red and melted cheese, spanish rice. I think they have enough filling, the masa is tender, and the heat is about New Mexico Medium. Just about perfect, tho expensive when shipping.
The taste of the Hatch Green Chile tamales was very good, but to make the tamales excellent, more filling needs to be put in the tamales. Just not enough filling.
Great tamales
I love tamales going into Christmas, and these are tasty and delicious! They have a wonderful corn flavor and plenty of chicken. I also love how easy they are to prepare for a quick lunch or dinner— I was steaming them, but I find they are equally good heated for a couple minutes in the microwave. I may have to order more, and it’s not even December!
