Why You’ll Love It

We’ve all had green chile on a burger, but this is next-level. This Hatch Green Chile Hamburger Pizza brings all that flavor to a crispy, thin-crust pizza using Fresh Green Chile Sauce as the base and a generous topping of Pure Hatch Green Chile. Add seasoned hamburger or lamb, red onions, and two types of cheese, and you’ve got a New Mexico classic with a pizza twist.

Ingredients

Pizza dough, rolled thin

Cornmeal, for dusting

1 cup Fresh Chile Roasted Hatch Green Chile Sauce

1 cup shredded cheese (Acierto, mozzarella, or Munster)

1 cup cooked hamburger or lamb burger, sautéed with onion and garlic

½ red onion, thinly sliced

¼ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon Fresh Chile Green Chile Seasoning

2 to 3 tablespoons Fresh Chile Pure Hatch Green Chile

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven

Fire up a wood-fired oven if you have one. I use an Ooni wood-fired model and highly recommend it for the flavor. If you’re using a conventional oven, preheat it to 500°F with a pizza stone inside if you’ve got one.

2. Roll and prep the dough

Roll your dough thin, then dust a pizza board with cornmeal. This helps the pizza slide off easily when it’s time to go into the oven.

3. Spread the sauce

Spoon the Fresh Green Chile Sauce over the dough, all the way to the edges. This is the same as our Pure Green, just pureed into a smooth, thick sauce.

4. Add the toppings

Sprinkle a thin layer of shredded cheese

Add the cooked hamburger or lamb mixture

Scatter red onion slices

Add the sharp cheddar

Season with Green Chile Seasoning

Finish with spoonfuls of Pure Green Chile

5. Bake

Slide the pizza into your oven. In a wood-fired oven, it cooks fast, usually under 2 minutes. In a regular oven, bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.

6. Slice and serve

Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. A light spray of oil on your pizza cutter can help avoid sticking. Serve hot and enjoy the Hatch flavor in every bite.

Why It Works

The Fresh Green Chile Sauce gives you that creamy roasted chile flavor as your base. The Pure Green on top brings texture and that signature Hatch heat. Combine that with seasoned meat, red onion, and melty cheese on a crisp crust, and it’s a flavor-packed slice of New Mexico.
