Meat and Chile Stromboli

Meat and Chile Stromboli


Basic Pizza Dough
1 Tbs dry, active yeast
1 Tsp sugar
1 Tsp salt
1 tsp dried oregano
3 Tbs olive oil
1 cup warm water
3 C Flour
Toppings of your choice (ex: marinara sauce, pesto sauce, salami, ham, pepperoni, mozzarella, parmesan, Fresh Chile Co. Red & Green Blend, Italian spices, etc.).


Mix the above ingredients in a mixer with a dough hook (or in a bread machine), then add:
3 cups all-purpose flour (or 2.5 C all-purpose and 1/2 C whole wheat)
Mix until dough ball forms; should be smooth to touch, not sticky. If sticky, add 1 Tbs. Flour at a time and mix until smooth.
Put the dough ball in a large greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and place it in a warm spot. Let it rise for 45min - 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
Punch down gently and roll out into a large circle for pizza or a large rectangle (11 X 20") for braided top stromboli. Then add in whatever toppings you want!
Bake 20min at 400°. Enjoy!
