1 red onion, diced
1 yellow onion, diced
4 large garlic bulbs, chopped finely
1 green, 1 red, 1 yellow, and 1 orange bell pepper, diced
2 Tbsp Ghee
2 Tbsp. Olive oil
5 orange carrots, 5 yellow carrots, and 5 purple carrots chopped
2 Tbsp Olive oil
2 pounds grass-fed hamburger
1 pound spicy Italian sausage
1 pound mild Italian sausage
2 jars diced tomatoes
1 jar organic tomato basil sauce
1/4 cup Fresh Chile Company's Jalapeño Roast
1/4 cup FCC Pure Green Chile (XHot)
2 tsp. Smoky paprika
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
4 bay leaves
1 cup Kettle & Fire bone broth
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 pkg gluten-free pasta
Heat the oil and ghee, add onions, garlic, and bell peppers, and saute until softened. Divide in half and put each half in a separate Dutch oven.
Heat olive oil and saute carrots till al dente. Divide equally into the Dutch ovens.
Brown 1 pound of hamburger and mild sausage and season with salt and pepper. Add to Dutch oven for the mild batch of goulash.
Brown the other pound of hamburger and the spicy sausage and season with salt and pepper. Add to the other Dutch oven for the spicy batch of goulash.
Add 1 jar of tomatoes and 1/2 jar of sauce to each Dutch oven. Add 1 tsp of the Smoky paprika, 1/2 tsp of the Italian seasoning and 2 Bay leaves in each Dutch oven.
Add the FCC Jalapeño Roast and Pure Green Chile to the spicy batch Dutch oven.
Add 1/2 cup bone broth to each batch, and let ingredients simmer for 1 hour.
Add the 2 cups elbow macaroni to the mild batch and let cook 30 more minutes covered.
We did the gluten-free pasta with the spicy batch, which is optional for your needs. I cook the gluten-free pasta separately then fold it into the spicy batch.
If you are keto or cutting carbs, it's perfect without pasta.
Serves a crowd or several meals for 2. Tastes great reheated in the air fryer.
