Flat Cut Corned Beef Brisket using FCC hot Dijon Mustard
3 lbs Flat Cut Corned Beef Brisket
1/2 to 3/4 cup FCC Dijon Mustard
3/4 cup Water
1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Paprika
2 tsp Garlic Powder
2 tsp Onion Powder
3 Tbsp Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Coriander
Preheat the oven to 225°F.
Blot fresh corned beef brisket with a hand towel.
Mix all the dry seasoning ingredients.
Rub the FCC hot Dijon Mustard directly on brisket. Then, season brisket with the dry seasoning mix.
Wrap seasoned brisket in 3 layers of aluminum foil.
Place the wrapped brisket in a Dutch oven on a rack.
Make sure the wrapped brisket is not touching the bottom of the Dutch oven. Then, put 3/4 cup of water in the Dutch oven. Cover it tightly and let it cook for 6 hours at 225°F.
After 6 hours, unwrap the brisket and let it cool for an hour. After one hour, place the unwrapped brisket back in the oven for 30 minutes at 350°F.
Enjoy! It takes a bit of time, but it’s so worth it. Delicious!!!
